Survival Bow Making Workshop

  • Buzz Mill 1505 Town Creek Drive Austin United States (map)

This is a three-day workshop spread over two Thursdays and one Saturday. The Archery Workshop is the ONLY Lumber Society Workshop that we require tickets to be bought in order to attend. This is because of the amount of time and effort that is put into this workshop to make it a worthwhile experience. We don't mind if you come and listen for note taking purposes.

Important: One ticket gets you access to all three days.

Location: The Buzz Mill
1505 Town Creek Dr. Austin, TX 78741

Time: Thursday (21st & 28th) : 7pm - 9pm
Saturday 11am - 4pm (time may change)

Workshop: During the 2 evenings you'll get to explore the world of survival bow making using modern tools such as knives, saws, draw knives, rasps, scrapers and sandpaper. We will have primitive tools to demonstrate the more primal aspect also. On our 3rd day together (Saturday) we will get a chance to hang out for a few hours together shooting arrows and enjoying some social time together in order to learn about proper form, technique, draws and releases for effective and accurate shooting.

About Lumber Society: Lumber Society was founded in 2013 to bring the community together around getting outside and embracing nature. It's like adult scouts where you earn patches and at the end of the 11 workshops you can test out and earn your Grizz Patch. Knot Tying is the second workshop out of the 11.

Join or Die: That is the Motto of Lumber Society. We believe that if you embrace these skills that Chris Hyde teaches then you'll be more able to survive the first 72 hours of a zombie apocalypse.
